Clifford Herbertson
An Economist by degree, Clifford’s has been a varied career. Initially working in strategy consultancy, as a Partner with two different Strategy practices, his experience includes: corporate and marketing strategy, geographic and new market entry, growth realisation, cost reduction, IPO preparation, and mergers/acquisitions. More recently, as the Group Business Development Director, he was a member of the Exel plc Executive Board, managing teams across Asia, the USA and Europe.
Sector experience includes Retail, FMCG, Business to Business Services, Pharmaceuticals and Supply Chain. In terms of markets, Clifford has worked extensively in the UK, Europe, the USA and the Far East.
Family, running, climbing, skiing, football and voluntary work account for any spare time!
Michael McVicar
Although Michael started off his career gaining accounting qualifications, he found himself entering the IT world where he worked his way through to managing systems architecture and implementation teams. Following the pursuit of an MBA however, he decided to follow the entrepreneurial urges he felt within himself. Cutting his teeth on a number of ventures directly, with significant levels of success, he then embarked on a number of Turnaround opportunities.
As a founding member of the UK Turnaround Management Association, Michael has been involved with a number of high-profile turnaround situations over the last 15 years and has gained a great deal of experience in working through some of the most intractable structural issues facing the businesses he has worked with.
