Who we work with
At Paradigm, we organise our business and around and focus our efforts on two distinct portfolios:
Emerging Business Portfolio
Our Emerging Business Portfolio focuses on companies with a developed product or service that have generally gone through one or two stages of funding, and despite having outstanding growth prospects have hit a ‘brick wall’!
Some of the issues faced by companies in this situation may include:
- Insufficient management capacity or expertise to move to ‘the next stage’
- To be successful, the Sales and Marketing strategy requires access to people with customer organisations that seem to be 'out of reach'
- Rapid domestic and international expansion required to capitalise where the company has a first-mover advantage
- Dysfunctional shareholder or key member of the management team
- Cash-flow challenges arising from a requirement for a rapid roll-out
Paradigm will work with such companies across a broad range of sectors to help shift perceptions in not only how to realise dramatic value uplifts for the business, but also the level of value that can be generated.
Engaging Paradigm, will ordinarily involve a significant stake in the business and an active role on the Board. Investment levels for businesses in the emerging portfolio are typically around £100-750K.
Established Business Portfolio
Our Established Business Portfolio focuses on companies with proven and established business models, but which have some intractable structural issue which is denying it the level of profitability or value it has the potential to achieve.
Some of the issues faced by companies in this situation may include:
- A stifling pension deficit
- Dysfunctional Board or Management Team
- Inability to take advantage of consolidation opportunities
- Business adversely affected by the perception of brokers or stock market
- Traditional market under significant threat through new legislation or technology development.
Paradigm will work with such companies across a broad range of sectors bringing about dramatic change and realise significant value. Engaging Paradigm, will ordinarily involve a majority stake in the business and an active role in the direction and management of the business. Our Investment levels for businesses in the established portfolio are considerably higher.
Across both portfolios, collaborative partnerships between company management and Paradigm people are the key to producing actionable plans and to equipping the senior team for the challenges of the future. Clear focus is given to driving improved performance and preparing for long term growth, to maximise business potential.
